If you like peanut butter and everything sweet, then you’ll definitely love peanut butter fudge condensed milk. It’s a dessert which is easy to make for your children and friends. All you need to do is prepare the ingredients and follow the steps below.

What You’ll Need


Peanut butter fudge might be the easiest dessert that you can do at home. Compared to buying it in stores, you can save a lot by making a large batch in your kitchen. All you need are five ingredients.

  • 2 cans of 400 grams condensed milk
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup butter (preferably salted to counter the sweetness of the condensed milk)
  • 3/4 cup peanut butter (preferably, Crunchy for a more textured result)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

You’re also going to need a medium saucepan to heat your mixture, a ladle to stir the mixture, and a hand mitten for protection from accidental splatter.

Alternatively, you can do the melting and blending of ingredients in a microwave oven. All you need is a microwave-safe large bowl to contain all the ingredients.

For the final step, you need a square brownie pan about nine inches in size, parchment paper, non-stick spray, and a knife.

The pan will serve as the container for your fudge mixture when chilled in the refrigerator while the parchment paper makes it easier to remove the chilled fudge easier from the pan. You need a knife to cut the chilled fudge into desired servings.

Melting And Mixing The Ingredients


There are actually two ways wherein you can melt the ingredients of peanut butter fudge condensed milk: stovetop or microwave. In extreme situations where you don’t have those? You can even try using a bottle warmers or even a rice cooker. They actually work! Let’s stay conventional though and use below options:

Option 1: On Stovetop

If you like to melt and smooth your ingredients in a saucepan, here are the steps that you need to follow.

  • Pour the condensed milk, then chopped butter, whipping cream, vanilla extract, and peanut butter of your choice.
  • Stir for about 15 minutes or until the mixture has gone smooth and well blended.

Option2: On Microwave

To begin, place all ingredients in a large microwave-safe bowl. Set the microwave on High and heat the bowl uncovered in 1-minute increments. In between each minute, stir the mixture well.

You may need to do this for several times until the mixture has become fully melted and smooth. Make sure that you wear some hand mittens because the bowl can get hot to touch.

Chilling The Fudge Mixture


Before you pour the fudge mixture into a brownie pan, line it first with parchment paper. Grease it a little with a non-stick spray to keep the fudge from sticking to the paper. To surface the level, pick the pan and drop it twice.

You can cool the fudge slightly at room temperature, but you need more time at least two hours. For a faster cooling process, you can refrigerate it until firm.

Don’t worry about overheating your refrigerator because the thermostat will still keep running to keep a safe temperature of 40 degrees Fahrenheit or below.

Serving And Storing Your Peanut Butter Fudge


Once your peanut butter fudge is already firm, you can remove it from the refrigerator and cut it into desired pieces with a sharp knife. To serve, just get one piece and sprinkle with some salt to balance the sweetness of the fudge.

To store, turn out the pan and wrap every piece with waxed paper to prevent from sticking together. You can then place the wrapped pieces in an airtight container. At room temperature, the fudge can last up to two weeks.

For a longer shelf life, store the fudge in the freezer. This can stay good for several months. To thaw, just leave the pieces at room temperature for about two hours.
